Shooting or hitting a wild boar with one villager so it chases that villager back to the Town Center, where the other villagers kill it. A boar gives much more food than a sheep and is close to the Town Center when lured well.
A boar can kill a villager, so many players research Loom first or lure with a villager that has full health.
