Raid

Attacking the opponent’s villagers, farms or trade with fast units, usually cavalry, rather than their army. Every second a villager spends running or hiding is lost resource gathering.

A good raid kills villagers or forces them into buildings and then leaves before the defending army arrives. Raids are often split, hitting two places at once so the opponent cannot defend both.
